Abstract:   (247 Views)
Introduction: Breast cancer often causes psychological distress. Accordingly, this study aimed to test whether ego strength and mindfulness predict hope.
Methods: Women with breast cancer in Zanjan, Iran (n=101) completed Snyder’s Hope, Markstrom’s Ego Strength, and Langer Mindfulness scales. Ethics approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee of Islamic Azad University, Zanjan Branch, Zanjan, Iran  (IR.IAU.Z.REC.1401.027).
Results: Ego strength and mindfulness together explained 47% of the variance in hope (adjusted R² = 0.47).
Conclusion: Ego strength and mindfulness are positively linked to hope. Therefore, integrating counseling and mindfulness may enhance hope and quality of life.
