مقدمه: سرطان پستان، به عنوان شایع‌ترین سرطان در زنان، نه تنها سلامت جسمانی، بلکه سلامت روانی آن‌ها را نیز تحت تأثیر قرار می‌دهد. شیمی‌درمانی، به عنوان یکی از روش‌های اصلی درمان این بیماری، با عوارض جانبی متعددی همراه است که می‌تواند منجر به افزایش مشکلات روانشناختی بیماران شود. این مطالعه با هدف تعیین تاثیر تکنیک رهاسازی هیجانی بر شدت افسردگی، اضطراب و علائم استرس پس از سانحه در بیماران مبتلا به سرطان پستان تحت شیمی‌درمانی انجام شد.
روش بررسی: این مطالعه نیمه‌تجربی با طرح پیش‌آزمون-پس‌آزمون روی ۶۰ بیمار مبتلا به سرطان پستان در مراکز درمانی زاهدان انجام شد. نمونهگیری به صورت در دسترس انجام شد و سپس شرکتکنندگان بهصورت تصادفی بلوکی به دو گروه مداخله و کنترل تخصیص یافتند. گروه مداخله، آموزش تکنیک رهاسازی هیجانی را در شش جلسه دو ساعته دریافت کردند. داده‌ها با استفاده از مقیاس اضطراب و افسردگی بیمارستانی‌(HADS)  و چک لیست استرس پس از سانحه PCL-5)) قبل و چهار هفته پس از مداخله جمع‌آوری شدند و با نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه 26 و آزمون‌های تی مستقل، تی زوجی و کای دو تحلیل شد.
یافته‌ها: بیشتر شرکت‌کنندگان در گروه کنترل و مداخله (75 درصد) خانه دار بودند. میانگین سنی در گروه مداخله 81/7 ±. 10/56 و در گروه کنترل 60/56±6/55 سال بود. هم چنین نتایج نشان‌دهنده کاهش آماری معنادار در نمرات افسردگی، اضطراب و استرس در گروه مداخله پس از اجرای تکنیک بود، در حالی که تغییرات معناداری در گروه کنترل مشاهده نشد. نتایج آزمون‌های آماری تفاوت معنادار بین دو گروه را در پایان مطالعه تأیید کرد (p=0/001)‌.
نتیجه‌گیری: نتیجه مطالعه به‌طور کلی نشان داد که تکنیک رهاسازی هیجانی تاثیر مثبت و معناداری بر کاهش شدت علایم اضطراب، افسردگی واختلال استرس پس از سانحه در بیماران مبتلا به سرطان پستان دارد(p=0/001). بنابراین توصیه می‌شود این تکنیک به عنوان درمان مکمل در کنار درمان‌های پزشکی در برنامه‌های مراقبتی بیماران سرطانی گنجانده شوند.
